The idea for Dunk On Disease came from David Adomako-Ansah, a long time paitent of the Stollery Children's Hospital. During the toughest times of his life, the Stollery has provided him with abundent care, and, for lack of better words, saved his life.
Adomako-Ansah, now 23-years-old, still used the Stollery until the age of 19, recieving treatments monthly. Instead of just signing a check and saying 'thanks', Dunk On Disease gives everyone a chance to give back both financialy to the Stollery, but also to the community, because let's face it, they have been a vital part of Adomako-Ansah's getting healthier.
The focus of Dunk On Disease is to raise money for the Stollery Children's Hospital, in many forms, the first one being a charity basketball tournament & silent auction for all the help and care it has provided to the founder and president, David Adomako-Ansah, and all those around him.
In the past two and a half years, doing our Tournaments, Pubcrawls and BBQ's, we have raised over $9500 for the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation!!!
We DEFINITELY want to surpass the $10,000 mark before our 3rd Annual Tournament this summer. So please, drop us a line. Let us know what fundraiser you would like us to do before then!
Thanks a lot! Take Care.
